I’ve been working with Taylor & Taylor for about 15 years. I was at an age where I had some investments and some pensions, and they were pretty much dotted about the place. There was no cohesive strategy for pulling all those together.
I felt that I needed some financial advice on how to coordinate that. The key aims in life were purely for financial security in my retirement years.
The process I went through in selecting a financial adviser was firstly that I needed somebody local; somebody that I could call upon easily for scheduled meetings, or if there was an urgent need to see somebody, I wanted somebody local.
So, I simply chose three IFAs, went to see three of them and discussed what my needs were. I thought that Taylor & Taylor were outstanding. They offered me a lot of comfort and confidence in the services they were offering, hence I chose Taylor & Taylor.
Chris and Ross have given me an objective view of where I’m at financially as I approach my retirement age. They see many, many different clients; if they thought I wasn’t in good shape, they would tell me.
What they have been saying is that the way things stand at the moment bodes well for the future. So that does inspire me with confidence. It makes me feel very comfortable now. The objective has not been achieved yet, but it’s been partially achieved. As I’m now approaching retirement age, I feel quite comfortable going into retirement at the end of this accumulation stage of my life. I feel comfortable that we’re going to be okay in our later years.
As an FD, I was in a position where I had all the information to be able to control what I needed to do within the business. But with finance, I didn’t have all that information, and that’s what Chris and Ross gave me.
The best thing about working with Chris and Ross is their simple objectivity when it comes to my financial circumstances. That’s what gives me the most confidence. Simple, uncomplicated advice.
